They are not tamed yet,2019. Ink, acrylic on paper. 40 x 30 cm
In This art series, I explore the mix of forbidden dances and the joyful freedom of wildlife. The title, “They are not tamed yet,” shows what this collection is all about. Drawing a connection between the prohibition on dancing in Iran and the free movement of wild animals. Where I come from, people can’t dance freely, but these artworks tell a story of untamed spirits. It’s like the happy dances of animals and people are hidden away. By deliberately excluding human figures, I aim to highlight the contrasting level of freedom between animals and people who are subject to control. “Free Spirits” is my platform for sharing the unspoken joy experienced by both humans and animals. It talks about the strong wish for freedom. I hope audience you look at these artworks, you feel a connection between the hidden dances of humans and the wild and free movements of animals.
Whispers of Growth,2021. Ink, Rapid on paper. 20 x 15 cm
In my “Whispers of Growth” series, I explore the notion that every moment is marked by change, symbolizing a continuous transformation. All events have always been transformed and this is a reflection of the resilience and narrative of lived and unlived history. Human nature is always changing not to become immortal but also to continue. An event whose nature has not been lost has accumulated and consolidated again and is on the verge of disintegration like a plant which becomes a part of the soil to be transformed into a new form. Constant encounter with plants or a form of the human body is a testimony to the unstoppable dynamism of life. The nature of every living being is in a constant state of transformation that may seem to disappear but leave traces that accumulate and reintegrate. This is a deep connection between the ever-changing nature and continuous transformations in both human and plant existence.
Closed Doors, 2015. Acrylic on canvas. 60 x 40 cm
“Closed Doors” is a series of paintings that represent my subconscious thoughts, influenced by growing up with strict parents and the fears that were present in our home. The painting uses the symbol of closed doors to represent the emotional boundaries that were a part of my upbringing. The closed doors in the painting are not just physical barriers, but they also symbolize the emotional spaces in my home. Each closed door carries the burden of unspoken expectations and the limits set by authority. “Closed Doors” presents a visual story of my memories and dreams, encouraging viewers to think about common themes of family dynamics, authority, and the internal conflicts related to home. The closed doors, while symbolizing restriction, also represent the possibility of self-discovery and the bravery to face the fears that exist behind them. This artwork is a personal declaration of the intricate relationship between dreams, memories, and the emotional structure of home life.
